Christmas day dawns on the tents many of the Philippines typhoon survivors still call home. Despite the rain and grey skies many are far from gloomy. Eleven-year-old Joan Odon's among those scouring through discarded shop goods for thing to recycle or give as presents. (SOUNDBITE)(Waray) 11-YEAR-OLD JOAN ODON SAYING: "There's no-one giving out gifts so I'm making some from scrap materials." At the Church of Santo Nino in Tacloban, Philippines papal representative Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto was among those handing out gifts to the congregation. Assistant parish priest Madeo Alvero says the storm didn't break the spirit of those who survived. (SOUNDBITE)(Filipino/English) MADEO ALVERO, ASSISTANT PARISH PRIEST AT SANTO NINO CHURCH, SAYING: "We may be homeless, we may be roofless, but we're not hopeless. This is our battle cry. We're hopeful that Tacloban will rise again, that Leyte will rise again, with the help of every one of us."
