ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: America poet Langston Hughes' play "Black Nativity" has been reimagined as a new feature film musical of the same name. An all-star cast including Forest Whitaker, Angela Basset and Jennifer Hudson come together to tell the modern story of a Hughes' popular work. In the movie Hudson plays the 'down on her luck' daughter of Basset and Whitaker who sends her son to live with her estranged parents. Hudson, who is best known for her Academy Award winning role in "Dreamgirls," wasn't looking for another musical movie, but said the story made her change her mind. "Once I saw all the different elements from music to family to the holidays. All of that in it and I was like ok, you'll got me, I definitely want to be a part of telling this story," Hudson said.
