Navy helicopters from the USS George Washington warship were dropping food and water supplies to isolated communities in and around Tacloban, Philippines, the city hit hardest by Typhoon Haiyan. Japan has already dispatched a 25 member medical team, and Tokyo has pledged $10 million in aid for tents, blankets, food and water. Troops are also being dispatched.
