The BSE benchmark Sensex had today decreased by over 76 points in the opening trade today as the funds and retail investors had booked gains recorded in the previous 3 sessions in spite of a tautening trend on other Asian stock markets.

BSE sensex which has gained about 840 points in the last three sessions, today felt by 76.32 points that is 0.45 %, and it reached 16,770.51 in the opening trade today.As such as like the Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange Nifty Index decreased by 25.10 points that is 0.49 % and reached 5,025.05.

Stocks of banking, metal, gas, oil & other realty firms bore the brunt of the selling pressure, which brought down the Sensex.Share Brokers said that the emergence of the profit booking by speculators after the gains in recent times mainly checked a further advance in the prices of stock, but a tiny good trend on the other Asian stock markets limited the losses in the Indian market.

In the mean time as far as the Asia regions are concerned Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gained by 0.55%, where as Japan’s Nikkei gained 0.52% in morning trade today.
