Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas Rangers) paid off his World Series Wager to Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay (D-St. Louis Cardinals) Tuesday afternoon. Congressman Barton, confident of a Rangers victory, wagered a case of Texas beer and a smoked brisket from the famed Spring Creek Barbeque. The two teams battled in what many described as an epic World Series that will be remembered for generations. Unfortunately for Mr. Barton and baseball fans all over the Metroplex, the Rangers came up one strike short -- TWICE! So Tuesday Rep. Clay and his staff enjoyed barbeque lunch delivered and served by Rep. Barton. He even wore a St. Louis Cardinal cap during lunch.
