Chennai: The failure of some officials, authorities to cordon off the incomplete storm drain water has in turn become a deathtrap for a young woman near T.Nagar. Concerned woman’s mother found her daughter body floating ten hours after that tragic accident has actually taken place.

M.Sarala, 24 year old victim has fallen into the drain at Friday night after she was coming from her spoken English class and she was a teacher. Her mother found her body floating in the drain water only in Saturday morning.

This tragic accident took place at the busy north Usman road at about 8.15pm on Friday. Around 6.30 a.m. on Saturday morning Sarala’s mother Amsa with Sakthivel and Dhanasekar was heading to school to get information about her.

Sarala was her way home from bus stop after finishing her spoken English class at the Ramakrishna Mission Matriculation School on the Krishna street and she was actually residing in Anna Veethi, MGR nagar, 1st street. It seems that no one has really noticed her falling as the banner has completing hiding and blocking the view from the other end of the road.

Soundarapandianar Angadi police source informed that her body is found to have some severe injuries in the head as the iron rod might have hit and also some broken concrete slabs were found. It is to be ashamed fact that the body lied their unnoticed for about 10 hours even the road seems to be very busy always and many shoppers and others use to pass that way.

The body is being sent to government Royapettah Hospital for post mortem by the police team. This case has been filed under the section 174 of CrPC. Sarala was working as a teacher in the primary school near MGR nagar and she was the youngest daughter for Muniyan (retired MTC conductor) and Amsa. She had joined to that spoken English class only before 15 days.
