Heavy rains had slashed many parts of Maharashtra, in which the western parts of the state and the Konkan region are the mostly affected areas, road lines to several villages had been cut off due to the increase in water level of the rivers.A couple of persons had overwhelmed in the Raigad district, one in a culvert and another in a dam.Rains have so far took the lives of 7 peoples so far.

In the Konkan region of Maharashtra, the waters of the Jagbudi & Vasishthi rivers had reached the Khed and also the Chiplun towns.More than 20 villages in the Mangaon region are now disconnected, Totally 70 villages have been disconnected due to this rain, rivers like the Kundalika and Savitri are coursing close to danger mark now.

In the Sangli district of the west Maharashtra, the Krishna river waters have increased. The Panchaganga river near the Kolhapur is falling above the danger mark and 23 villages in the region have been disconnected as 96 small roads are now under the water.

The Konkan Railway had declared the cancellation of services till 21st July, heavy rains, especially between the Nivsar and Ratnagiri, led to the commotion of train services on the Konkan Railway route, with the slush and water hoarding on the tracks at the Pomendi between Nivsar and Ratnagiri section.
