This is what's in the news for Wednesday, April 13th. the Wall Street Journal reports that Schneider Electric made a preliminary $30B bid for Tyco (TYC). The Wall Street Journal reports that Hitachi (HIT) submitted a long-term plan to decommission Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant once plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. has cooled the reactors and brought them under control. Hitachi submitted the proposal to Tepco with help from its nuclear business partner GE (GE) and two other U.S. companies, Exelon (EXC) and Bechtel. Reuters reports that IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) and Nasdaq OMX (NDAQ) have no reason to increase their takeover offer for the New York Stock Exchange (NYX) parent company because their joint bid is already superior, according to ICE's CEO Jeffrey Sprecher. And finally, Bloomberg reports that Fiat's (FIATY) Chrysler Group LLC plans to start selling compressed natural gas powered vehicles by 2017.
